One Less Car off the Streets

Okay, I've got another one for the commuting challenge. Our accountant has decided to leave her car at home one day a week for one month. Three cheers for the bean counter.

Our firm, Calgary's Cohos Evamy integratedesign(offices in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto), has just completed its first participation in the national Commuter Challenge....
perhaps this is a direction for Alberta Venture as well.

The Challenge pits workplaces and communities across Canada against each other to compete for the highest percentage of participation during Clean Air Day and Canadian Environment Week. Visit www.commuterchallenge.ca for details.

Commuting options utilized by the Calgary studio included walking, cycling, taking the bus or LRT,or ridesharing. We were encouraged by the strong staff participation and enthusism for the challenge...made easier in part by the office's in-house secure bike storage, public transit incentive program, and staff showers.

While the results of Cohos Evamy's progress are still being tabulated...we're proud that everyone at least contemplated 'how' they commuted and opened their minds to ways they might make environmentally positive commuting choices.

Is the beancounter still not driving one day a month?
